Hi. I'm Kelly.

Welcome to my blog. Hope you have a nice stay!

Smoked Sausage and Cheddar Sandwich + Tournament Time Savings!

Smoked Sausage and Cheddar Sandwich + Tournament Time Savings!

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of the Tournament Time promotion at Publix. The opinions and text are mine.

You can bet that the second those spring temperatures start to emerge, so will my husband, spatula in hand and ready to grill! There really isn’t anything else like a slow sunny afternoon spent hanging out and grilling, except maybe for the excitement of grilling to prepare for your favorite sporting event. It’s always fun to have friends over and grill out with snacks and drinks while watching the game, but we like to make things feel special on the weekends. Even when we are just watching the game as a family, fun snacks and grilling are essential!

Publix currently has some amazing deals in their 3/12 Extra Savings flyer (you can grab one in-store or online) for their Tournament Time promotion. So many game-day essentials are included! Since it’s the start of a new grilling season, we needed a fresh bag of Kingsford match light briquets along with Kingsford charcoal lighter (You can find the coupon for $2 off the briquets and $1 off their charcoal lighter in the flyer!). I tend to get a little tired of a standard hot dog and burger, so I grabbed Eckrich Smoked Sausage to make an easy cheddar, pepper, and onion sausage sandwich. If you’d like to try the super easy recipe below you can get $2 off 1 $3.49 Eckrich smoked sausage pack, so it’s a deal that’s hard to pass up. The Borden Cheddar Cheese Singles are also $.55 off making it an even better deal!

To make the sausages, you will need:

 *rolls

*Eckrich Smoked Sausage

*bell pepper

*onions

*cooking oil

*Borden Cheddar Cheese Singles

To make these sandwiches, you need to do a little veggie prep and slice up your onion and bell pepper. You can either add a bit of oil and wrap them in tinfoil to throw on the grill, or if you're like me and prefer your onions to be a bit caramelized you can fry them up on the stove with a little bit of oil and the peppers. Then all you have to do is grill up that Eckrich Smoked Sausage to perfection, top it with a slice of Borden Cheddar while it’s still hot, and add the onion and pepper mix for the perfect tournament-ready sandwich. A little pop of Dijon mustard never hurts either!

The only thing missing from this game-ready meal is the chips and dip! I can never seem to wait until a game starts to crack open the queso. It’s a serious weakness for me. I love sitting outside snacking and hanging out while Justin grills. I feel like we have some of our best conversations while he is grilling. Put a spatula in Justin's hand, and my introverted husband of few words becomes the chattiest in the family! It really has become something I so look forward to on the weekends. The Cacique Queso Dip is also 25% off for the Tournament Time promotion at Publix, which is fantastic seeing how addictive it is! If you're having friends over to watch the game, it’s definitely an item to stock up because trust me when I say you will fly through it!

I hope a few of these game ready snacking ideas help you to prepare for a delicious and effortless spread for your family and/or friends! Don’t forget to grab the Publix extra savings flyer for 3/12 (You can always ask at customer service if you can’t find one in-store, or you can check it out online). There are a ton of amazing sales to make sure you have everything you need for your game time entertaining!

Xo,

Kelly
