Family Vacation to SC
We recently got back from our family vacation to South Carolina. My parents told us they were renting a house and invited us to stay with them for the week. When we got there we instantly fell in love with the beautiful home they had rented for us to stay in. After touring the house, they completely surprised us and told us they OWNED the home. They spent the last year and a half building it, all while keeping it a secret from us. My Dad plans to retire in a few years and the house will become their winter retirement home. They wanted to buy the house now to use for family vacations. I can’t even tell you how excited we are to have such a beautiful place to vacation and build memories as a family. We spent the week touring charming southern towns like Charleston and Savannah as well as going to the beach and the pool.
Ayla was so excited to have her daddy around all week and she ate up all the extra attention from Grandpa and Grandpa. Justin and I have no family living near us so it was such a treat to have some extra help with Ayla. I think my favorite part of vacation was that I got to lay by the pool for a few nap times. I honestly felt guilty at first because I’m not used to having time to myself like that anymore. I quickly realized I was being crazy and aloud myself to soak up the down time along with the extra sunshine. Justin and I were completely spoiled and even had a whole day to ourselves to explore Charleston. We also got to squeeze in a date night in Savannah. The day these photos were taken we had an incredible southern brunch (complete with cheesy grits and lots of bacon) in the sweetest little community. Ayla ran around the water and we explored a beautiful old Church nearby. Overall I would say it was a fantastic vacation and we really can’t wait to go back!
